Conveo Raises $50M Series A

Conveo (conveo.ai), which uses AI interviewers to run consumer research for large brands, has raised a $50 million Series A from DST Global Partners, Balderton Capital, Visionaries, 6 Degrees Capital and Y Combinator, as first reported by Axios. Pioneer Fund backed the company at pre-seed, and Conveo raised a $5.3 million seed in March 2025 from Y Combinator, 6 Degrees Capital and others.

Conveo began with an AI interviewer that talks to consumers over video at length, which lets a company put the same study into several markets at the same time. That includes in-home research where participants show how they actually use a product, along with work on pricing, brand perception and unmet needs. The platform also handles MaxDiff, price sensitivity and diary studies.

More than 400 enterprises use Conveo, including over 50 Fortune 500 companies, with Google, Unilever, AB InBev and Canva among its customers. The company was founded in 2024 by Dieter De Mesmaeker and Hendrik Van Hove, and went through Y Combinator's Summer 2024 batch. De Mesmaeker previously co-founded DataCamp, where he was CTO.

The pitch rests on a gap in how companies buy research. Surveys reach a lot of people but say little about why they answer the way they do, while focus groups and moderated interviews go deeper at a cost that limits how often they run. Research also tends to be commissioned project by project, so what a company learns in one study rarely connects to the next.

Conveo's answer is to treat the output of every interview as material for a shared consumer intelligence layer that teams can query in plain language, or reach through dashboards, AI agents and connections into software they already use. Its newer product, StoryLines, keeps research running continuously on topics a company cares about rather than stopping when a study ends, feeding results into a knowledge base used by product, marketing and strategy teams. Conveo says StoryLines has already brought in multi-million-dollar enterprise contracts.

"Brands need AI that is deeply knowledgeable about their market and grounded in real-world data."

Dieter De Mesmaeker, CEO of Conveo

The funding goes toward a US push and further work on the platform, as Conveo tries to shift from one-off studies to a standing role in how enterprises make decisions.
