All of our coverage is free to read. We believe paywalls decrease the reach and impact of news. Founders, investors, and the broader community should be able to access and share stories without barriers.
We are clear about what a story is about before and during any engagement with a source. There is no risk of sharing a quote or facts only to find out afterwards it was for a hit piece or negative story. Sources know what we're writing and why.
We write about founders who want to be written about. Our stories are based on information that has been publicly disclosed, reported by other news sources, or shared directly by founders who have opted in to coverage. The Silicon Valley Post does not leak private information.
No information obtained through acting as investors ever becomes part of a story. The Silicon Valley Post team works part-time on the publication and has other professional roles. All conversations or information shared with the Silicon Valley Post team are NOT on the record as part of The Silicon Valley Post, unless explicitly agreed and desired to be part of a story. These boundaries are firm.
Our aim is to be factual and clear in everything we publish. Every fact traces to a source: a company's own announcement, a filing, a public post, a statement given to us on the record, or another publication's reporting, which we credit and link. Mistakes are fixed promptly and logged on the corrections page. Bylines, our use of AI tools, and how to reach us are covered in the editorial policy.
Articles are written and edited by the SV Post Team, a small group of Y Combinator alumni and Pioneer Fund team members who run the publication part-time alongside other professional roles. Every article carries the team byline and a fact sheet listing the company, founders, round, and investors.
